What
- All players are dealt 7 cards. The remaining cards are stacked in the center except one card which is flipped over and placed next to the stack - this is the discard pile.
The players take turns either taking a card from the stack or taking the face up card. If multiple cards are in the discard pile (which are arranged so that the players can see all of the cards), and a player desires a card in the middle of the pile, the desired card and all cards above that card in the discard pile must be picked up by the player. Each player must discard one card at the end of every turn.
The objective is to get a same-suit run of 3 or more cards or to get 3 or more of the same valued card (3 Jacks, etc..). Once a player has a set in his/her hand, they are placed face up next to the player. Once another player lays down a set, other players can add on to the set which increases the adding-on player's score. If a card is in the discard pile which goes with a set that a player already laid down, the first person to call out "Rummy" gets the card.
Scoring
Two to Ten = 5 points each
Face Cards = 10 points each
Ace = 15 points each
The first player to put down all cards wins the round and receives points for all the cards of the other players. Each player adds up the points of the cards they have laid down and adds that to a running total. Continue to play rounds until a player hits a target score.
